What a time to be alive: Stephen Curry does it again

That is all you need.

Last night’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest was something we’ve wanted for so long

My friend called last night’s dunk contest the best since Vince Carter. He even thought about calling it better than Carter’s.

The spirit of the dunk contest is between two great athletes trying to outduel one another. Aaron Gordon and Zach LaVine gave us that. I think Gordon was better but let’s just celebrate what we just witnessed!

Warriors lose monkey patch on Chinese New Year jerseys and you can figure out why

You remember this story? Kings star DeMarcus Cousins asked the team to remove the Year of the Monkey giveaway shirts on the first day of Black History Month. I get it and it’s just an unfortunate coincidence. But the shirt isn’t racist. But the timing of it just made Cousins think it wasn’t right to distribute the shirts.

So there is no monkey imagery for the Kings this month. Fine. The rest of the league can still move on with it, right?

Actually no.

Take a look at the jersey the Warriors were set to wear for Chinese New Year. Notice the monkey patch on the sleeve?

The aftermath: My thoughts on what happened at Super Bowl 50

Super Bowl 50 has come and gone and the Broncos are champions again. But there were a lot of thoughts that came to my head during the bout and I will just share them with you right now.

  • I am so glad the game was played in California. The California sun really makes it seem like a cool progression from light to night during the game. I wish I attended this game since it’s at Levi’s Stadium. Maybe next time. Although there were complaints about the turf again. But the NFL took care of the turf for the game, not the Niners, so this wasn’t on the Niners this time. Is field turf a possibility?
  • Don’t ever boo Tom Brady.
  • Lady Gaga is a legend and she did great. I didn’t read on any of the reports of people being upset but they are just fools.
  • I had thought that the Broncos pass rush was so superior that there was a chance it would upset the supposedly balanced Panthers team. That was the only factor I thought that would give the Broncos the advantage. That was it. Von Miller deserves the MVP award.

My predictions for Super Bowl Sunday

This will only be the fifth time ever that these two teams will face off in a game.

The Super Bowl is here and it’s time for those predictions. This should be a great game featuring two very strong defenses and offenses led by two superb quarterbacks.

Here are some things I look forward to in this game.

The John Scott All-Star Game happy ending was perfect

I think the All-Star Game fan voting across all sports should be eliminated. It serves no great purpose and players who don’t deserve to go to the game are taking away votes that should be going to players who should have a spot on the roster.

But with that said, since fan voting still exists, I am glad that the outcome of the John Scott fiasco turned out the way it did.

Scott did everything right leading up to the weekend. He tried to not get involved in the voting craziness that happened but when it was obvious that he was going to the game, he embraced it. Unfortunately the NHL tried to stop all of this but the fan demand was too high.
