Is this the new Milwaukee Bucks logo?

A while back, there was a rumor about the Bucks getting a new logo and this post from the Chris Creamer board.

One of the regulars where my friend bartends sells merch at the Bradley Center.  Yesterday, they apparently stocked a shirt with the one of the Bucks’ new logos.  No word on whether or not it’s the primary, but here’s what they described:

-Roundel featuring a Buck that looks similar to the current one, but “angrier.”

-Green & Cream… no other colors.

-Reminded them of something a microbrewery would use.

My 5 takeaways from attending WrestleMania

After attending last night’s WrestleMania 31 at Levi’s Stadium, I have five thoughts I want to share.

1 – It was super sunny. Because the start time of the first match was at 3:00 and being on the West Coast, most of the entire show was in broad daylight. I was in the sun for that entire time. I had my cap, sunglasses, sunscreen but it was still brutal. I can imagine it being the same for the wrestlers. Still, there is something cool about seeing the wrestlers in broad daylight. It was like some gladiator fight at the Colosseum. Visually, it was great. And as the show went on, it got darker and darker and finally for the last two matches, the sun had set. Great visuals.

My WrestleMania 31 predictions

I will be there! Crossing that off my bucket list.

WrestleMania 31 is here and I am actually going to be there in attendance. I have always wanted to attend this extravaganza and now I am here. But what’s going to happen tonight? Here are my predictions for the matches for all your curious folks.

Kickoff Pre-show: ANDRE THE GIANT MEMORIAL BATTLE ROYAL
– Konnor, Viktor, Kane, Big Show, Darren Young, Titus O’Neil, Jack Swagger, The Miz, Ryback, Curtis Axel, Fandango, Adam Rose, Zack Ryder, Erick Rowan, Sin Cara, Damien Sandow, Goldust, Mark Henry, Heath Slater, a NXT Superstar TBD, others TBA

I don’t know who is going to win this. Last year’s champ Cesaro isn’t even on the actual PPV event, but as a pre-show deal. Great career booster this thing gives, huh? And this show gets that treatment now. I predict Damien Sandow will get the push he needs by winning this. I was hoping Adrian Neville would be in it, but it’s Hideo Itami and I was hoping that the NXT guy would win and get a roster push.

Last night’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony was amazing

Last night I attended the WWE Hall of Fame. If you’re not a wrestling fan, this isn’t the kind of event you would enjoy. In a sense, it was a lot of talking and reminiscing, which was nice for a wrestling fan in me. It was held at SAP Center and the setup was pretty nice.

I shot a lot of Vines of the event and the highlight of the night might have been the speech from Daniel Bryan as he introduced the late Connor Michalek as the recipient of the Warrior award.

Oakland Athletics Pride Night 2015

A’s pitcher Sean Doolittle’s girlfriend Eireann Dolan is so based. What a great idea to buy tickets from fans who don’t want to go to Pride Night.

Thank You Based Ball

As some of you know, the Oakland Athletics will be hosting their first LGBT Pride Night on June 17.  Hopefully this will be the first of many such A’s events. You can purchase tickets here.

Many people don’t know this about me, but I have two moms. My biological mom Kathy and her partner Elise (who grew up in the Bay Area) are both die-hard A’s fans as well as super gay. Like, they’re so gay for each other that they’ve fostered a long-term loving relationship likely no different from any heterosexual loving relationships you’ve seen or been a part of.

My moms are begrudgingly living in San Diego as transplants amongst all of the San Diego Padres fans. The team the Athletics will play (and beat) on Pride Night? The San Diego Padres. This night was made for them. In fact I’m starting to suspect that the Athletics focus-grouped this…

Maybe Steve Nash, not Wayne Gretzky, is the greatest Canadian athlete ever

Here’s the question that was asked and depending on who you ask, you will get a different answer.

Statistically, Wayne Gretzky is the easy choice. He has so many records, the championships and heralded as the greatest ever in his sport. Steve Nash holds some records in the NBA, but nowhere close to what Gretzky has accomplished. So why is this a tough question?

Canadians are (stereotypically) supposed to be good at hockey. It’s in their blood. So even though Gretzky was great, there is not a lot of a surprise factor that he is the greatest in his sport. If not him, maybe it would have been some other Canadian.

Mitchell & Ness’ ‘Team Short’ snapbacks are copying Reebok

One of the best team apparel cap designs I have ever seen was created by Reebok for the NFL in 2006. All team caps were unique in design because the side panels of the caps were actually the design of the team pant stripes that year. In Reebok’s tenure in manufacturing items for the NFL, this was their best design.

Today, Mitchell & Ness released a series of throwbacks for the Lakers (here, here, here), Sonics (here, here) and Grizzlies (here). Notice anything? They took the same concept of what Reebok did with their snapback. It’s a great looking cap, but it doesn’t feel original. Of course, there are limitations in designing such a cap. But it just feels like M&N took what Reebok did and re-purposed it for their design.

This could just be a coincidence but since the Reebok idea isn’t an innovative idea and it came out almost a decade ago, you never know. I’m surprised that there are only these three teams. I wonder if more is to come.

WWE champ Brock Lesnar announces that he’s not going back to UFC

WWE champ Brock Lesnar announces that he’s not going back to UFC

I am so happy! I have been a huge Brock Lesnar fan since he debuted in the WWE over a decade ago. And I will be at WrestleMania this weekend knowing that this will not be the last time I see him in the ring. Amazing!!!

Check out next season’s NFL Pro Bowl uniforms

At least it’s not so brightly colored. The Pro Bowl uniforms next year are a lot simpler in design with a color scheme of black and gold. Since the NFL is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the modern Super Bowl era, these Pro Bowl duds reflect that of the golden anniversary. I think it’s a nice simple look. I still miss the days of the red for the AFC and the blue for the NFC, but with the new draft format, those days are gone.

I like the unique design of the shoulders for both uniforms. The white jersey appears to be just lines but the black jerseys appear to have this unique layering of shorter lines placed in the opposite direction.

(Is that a Saints helmet in the background? Is that facemask gray?)

Marlins bring back gray jersey, put orange caps in closet

Jose Reyes was on the Marlins the last time the team wore gray jerseys during a season.

Thanks to the tip from Chris Creamer, we have some big uniform news regarding the Miami Marlins. Marlins team president David Samson said that the Marlins will wear the gray jerseys a lot more this year and the team will likely go exclusively with the black caps.

In terms of their uniforms, Samson said the team will likely go exclusively with its black caps, although the red-orange caps are popular among fans.

Regarding the uniforms, the Marlins will again wear their home white, black, red-orange and gray.
